Reclaimed Asphalt Product (RAP)

Asphalt is highly recyclable. Reclaimed asphalt is a good alternative for those who can’t afford new asphalt. Using reclaimed asphalt is not recommended for all jobs. However, in the right situation, it is a lower-cost point alternative.

Eco-Friendly Asphalt
Commercial Paving of Maine’s professionals know how to recycle old asphalt into quality Reclaimed Asphalt Product or RAP. Because asphalt is recyclable, it’s an eco-friendly paving choice for the environmentally-conscious person. Using a Recycled Asphalt Product for your next commercial or residential paving job saves you money as well.
Reclaimed Asphalt Helps Emission Reduction

Did you know that since 1970 the asphalt industry has worked hard to lower emissions? To date, it’s estimated that the sector has lower emissions by almost 100%. Meanwhile, it has simultaneously increased production by 250%.

The process of making reclaimed asphalt creates almost no harmful emissions. What is emitted is mist made practically entirely of steam. Steam comes from heating gravel, sand, and rock to 300 degrees, the temperature needed to mix with asphalt oil or the glue that binds the materials together.

Common Uses

There are many uses of RAP. A few ways we use it include:

Up Until Now, No Negative Characteristics
The good news is, the asphalt industry is evolving into being exceptionally environmentally sensitive. Reclaimed asphalt pavement has turned into an eco-friendly product.
